Rae
The land of Rae has been home to the Disignei and Fraa' clans for as long as anyone dare remember. While these humans fight over scraps of land, a new power is rising. After long years of travelling, the elves have settled in the forest of Du'Neah, said to be home to a most terrible secret: Dragons! With these creatures becoming more and more widespread, and the elves' alliance unclear, which clan will gain power, if any? Declare your alliegence!
Fraa'
The Fraa' are a highly religious clan from the east who discovered Rae on a holy pilgramige on behalf of the moon god, Vilaron. Arriving not long after the Disignei, they believe they were given Rae by Vilaron as a gift. While they lack the brute strenght of the Disignei, their minds are more refined, and thus can master most magic. The Fraa' are vegitarian by religion, by may keep animals for pets and crop work. The Fraa' are able to obtain Dragon eggs through careful bartering with the elves, using items such as scrolls or farm produce, such as vegetables or wheat, end even some sacramental wine.
Disignei
Fierce warriors, the Disignei prefer to rely on brute force to end quarrels, thus making them terrible foes. This clan migrated to Rae after a plague on their homeland, and it is the opinion of the Fraa' that their warlike behavior brought the wrath of the gods upon them. The Disignei are able to obtain Dragon eggs through the elves with items such as steel, wool from their sheep and milk from their cows. The Disignei's main source of food is their cattle, as their surroundings make it difficult to grow crops. As they are, they do not fully appreciate the ue of magic, and those few who have dedicated their lives to its study are able to master only a few enchantments.
Elves
The newest race to have arrived in Rae, the elves are unwilling to join any fights the huamans may have. As they were removed fom their previous home by warring humans, they refuse to choose between the Fraa' and the Disignei, preferring to deal with all kindly. With their mastery of magic and foreign tounge, the Elves befriended the Dragons dwelling in Du'Neah, and obtained enough eggs to establish a breeding program and distribute the resulting hatchlings.
Dragons
Wise and ancient, the Dragons were among the first in Rae. They hatch only when a person they find agreeable comes into contact with their egg, and are loyal to that person no matter what hardship may come. They are able to communicate through thought their feelings and opinions, but only to their chosen person. As they are so large, they have to hunt at least twice a week, but are able to do this alone after six weeks.
As time goes on, more races and clans may be added, but for now, it's best to just stick with these three and the dragons. Dragons are controlled by their user, as 'add-ons' to their characters, they are not seperate beings.
