Author's notes: I've not written in a while, so forgive me if anything reads awkwardly or doesn't make sense. I was just thinking, and this idea came to my head. Anyhoo...
Subject matter: Well...as far as I've planned right now, this is going to be a romantic tragedy with fantasy overlays.
For the general story, I rate this M (mature), because with me, you never really know how explicit things will get (those of you who've read Hideous Laughter will know exactly what I'm talking about...), and even the prologue has some suggestive themes.
Without further ado, I present you with the very first part of A Blessing In Disguise...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Prologue
Looking into his emerald eyes, I felt uneasy of everything in my life. A sudden realisation came to my head and refused to leave without making its point. There was no turning back. I closed my eyes and lay next to him silently.
“Is something the matter?”
I shook my head. Yes...
“If there is, you can tell me, you don’t have to worry.”
He studied me for a moment before sitting up.
“Regrets?”
I pulled myself up to his eye level.
“Of sorts…I wish I had more time…I’m not sure if I’m ready. I would rather be with you…”
“You can’t change your mind now, it’s done.”
“I know, but I can’t shake the feeling I have…he’s coming tomorrow, isn’t he?”
Sighing, he fixed his gaze out the window. The sun was rising, and the birds had begun their first songs of the day. Ordinarily, this, along with dusk was my favourite time of day, just as the world was waking. I would often sit by the window in my room and identify each bird by its song, but not this morning. This morning had an air of gloom hanging over it.

More Author's notes: As fas as I know, this is the only part in first person, the rest (so far) is all in third (he, she, etc). This story is the first I've written after a severe case of writer's block (it's been months since I've been able to write something I've been happy with), and I'm pleased to say I 'm quite pleased where this is going.
